MissionThe Mission of Shivoham Shiva Temple
The Shivoham Shiva Temple is committed to guiding people towards the true goal of life: Self-Realization, God Realization, Moksh, Nirvana, Liberation and Enlightenment. Very few people in this world go on a search, a Talaash for the truth. Most people believe in God, but they don’t pursue to find out the truth behind God, life, and existence. The temple helps such Seekers or Jigyasus progress on the path of liberation. Instead of just performing Poojas that are not understood by people, the Temple Priests will share the true meaning of the Poojas with the seekers, which will help them to go forward on the path of liberation and Moksh. They could choose a Pooja for Moksh, Jivanmukta or Satchitananda, or they may choose a path, a Pooja for Viveka, Vairagya, or Mumukshutva.
Each of these Poojasare very important for the progress toward liberation. Therefore, the temple will help people focus on the right aspects that will lead them forward on their path of liberation.

The Temple Poojaris will not only guide the devotees to perform the Pooja at the temple, but also “give” the Pooja to them so that they can take it back home. The meaning of Mantras will be explained to the devotees so that they can repeat these Poojas and Mantras back at home to continue their efforts on achieving realization and liberation. The pooja cards are available in English, Hindi & Kannada.ADDITIONAL CONTACT DETAILS

AboutThe Shivoham Shiva Temple, situated on Old Airport Road, Bangalore. It is not a religious spot, but a spiritual destination that welcomes people from all walks of life regardless of their caste, creed, religion and social status.

HistoryThe history of this Shiva Temple dates back to the year 1994 when the construction of the 65-feet-tall Lord Shiva idol started. The temple was inaugurated by Sri Shankaracharya of Shringeri on February 27, 1995 on the auspicious Maha Shivratri day. This is no ordinary Temple! One morning, Ravi V. Melwani got a vision to build a temple where a huge statue of Lord Shiva would stand, building Faith, Hope and Belief for generations to come. He was surprised because when this inspiration struck him, he had no money, land, and plan. All he had was this vision. But Ravi V. Melwani and his father Vashi J. Melwani were completely convinced that the vision was, in fact, a message from God. They tried to make this vision come true. As if by magic, with the grace of God, they got a piece of land, arranged for the funds, and the Temple was soon a reality. With faith, all things are possible!

The Shivoham Shiva Temple was built by RVM and his father in 1995. They had a vision from God to build a temple, which would spread the power of faith in God for generations to come. Since then it became their dream and they envisioned the temple to have a tall Shiva idol with river Ganga flowing down from the head. Several people worked day and night to make the temple a reality.
Today, the temple is the holy abode of Lord Shiva where the gigantic 65-foot tall idol of Lord Shiva stands as a symbol of towering faith. It propagates spirituality and helps a devotee to connect with God.
